This is a before and after of a restored gauge one Carette locomotive built before ww1. We rebuilt the body work, built a silver soldered meths burner. Fitted modern '0' rings to the pistons and new axle bearings. Fitted a new seat in the safety valve seat. And a repaint. How much did this all cost? £250.

This is loco came into the workshop. She was built as a Basset Lowke Enterprise. And was almost certainly modified by BL in to this form. Representing an GWR 4-4-2 ( County Tank). She had a dent in the bolier, no steam pipes. The chiminey was missing. This has cost the customer £350, who has owned this loco for fifty years.
